What's Hap-"Pinning"? Wednesdays (Link Up)

Happy Wednesday!!
I'm happy to report that my daughter had a great first day of school. Thanks for all of your kind words/prayers. It was definitely hard on my son, but with time he'll adjust. And thankfully he'll be starting preschool in a few weeks to give him something to look forward to.

Today's post is a bit random, but that's sort of how my brain works. I've been searching for posts on breakfasts (for my kids before school) as well as nurseries (obvious reasons).

First up - breakfast ideas. I am not (and have never been) a big breakfast eater. The sad thing is, it's actually my favorite meal. I love all breakfast foods, I just can't stomach them in the morning. I'm definitely more of a brunch gal. That being said, my kids haven't really developed a taste for the traditional breakfast items (eggs, bacon, etc). Now they will eat them when I fix them for dinner (which we do quite often), but they do not enjoy them in the morning. They tend to stick to breakfast bars, muffins, etc. And not only am I not a big breakfast eater, but it's hard for me to even smell the food in the mornings (even pre-pregnancy). I feel like such a bad mom. Recently I have been trying to find some things that might appeal to my kids that are also tolerable for me to fix. The only other issue is that it has to be somewhat quick b/c we have to leave our house around 7:20 in the mornings. UGH! So any ideas you have that you'd like to share, I'll gladly take! :)

Now on to a more fun topic - nurseries! :) My daughter's nursery was pink with a green accent. My son's was navy with a brown accent. This time I'm really inspired by the color gray. And I actually JUST (as in yesterday) purchased two gray cribs for the babies. I'm soooo excited! The walls are currently white so I thought adding color with the furniture might be fun. (And since we had already given away our old crib/changing table, I get to start from scratch.) I do, however, still have a changing table that might work for the room. So I hope to paint it gray as well. I'm thinking of using white bedding (I hope I'm not sounding too boring.) Then accent with pops of color (blankets, wall art, shelves, etc). We'll see!! I'm still very nervous about planning too much, but with the purchase of the cribs, I am starting to get really excited!!

That's all for today! Don't forget the link up with Jenn and Jessi !

**And remember from last week's post - I don't "pin" anything nor do I have sources. Sorry - it's just not how I do it. :)

  3. On Sunday nights I've been making egg muffins or breakfast burritos and I package them in a Baggie by serving so that I can just grab and heat up it up in the morning. it's been a time (and money) saver.

  10. I think a gray nursery is a great idea. I love using other colors such as navy or white as an accent. I kinda wish I had a grey bedroom instead of a cream one.

  14. Gray, yellow, and white would be nice for either gender. When are you announcing?
