Weekending

Happy Monday, friends!! I hope you all had a great weekend. I know we sure did!! It was busy but so much fun!

We kicked off Friday evening with a small birthday celebration for my mom.

Then we headed to a local outdoor music event to keep the celebrations going. The weather was perfect and we all just enjoyed being outside listening to the music. I can honestly say that one of my favorite things to do once the weather turns warm is attend these events; sitting outside listening to music - so fun!! This time was even better b/c we were with my parents. And our good friends/neighbors showed up with their children. It was fun for the whole family!

My 3 year old took the pic below! Me and my sweet momma (the birthday girl).

Our family (before the friends showed up)

Our kids played pretty well before their friends showed up, but once they had other children to play with, they had an absolute ball!

On Saturday morning, we hosted our Mother's Day Brunch. But as we were preparing for things, my daughter stepped out on our deck to find the most unusual (yet beautiful) moth. Have you ever seen such a thing? The pink and yellow coloring was so bold and bright. The picture doesn't really do it justice.

It was quickly time for out brunch to start. I'm going to do a separate post tomorrow with my brunch details, but here's a sneak peek.

We ended our time with a few family pics. (And yes, my daughter is wearing the same dress she wore a few nights prior to the Mother/Daughter event at our church. I had a different dress picked out, but she started to get upset and I realized it just wasn't worth it. I'm trying to do a better job of "not sweating the small stuff" ;)

Me and my sweet momma!

Three generations

On Saturday evening, my son started getting really sick (sore throat, coughing, nose running, etc). So Sunday morning didn't go exactly as planned. But my family still made Mother's Day special.  I woke up to special handmade cards from the kiddos. My daughter also made a hand print craft for me at school. Then my daughter and I went to church (and my parents joined us), while my hubs stayed home with our sick son. :(

I still wanted to have a picture with my son, mismatched jammies and all! :) I am so blessed to be their momma!

And my hubs surprised me with a Daniel Wellington watch that coordinated the one I bought for him for his bday. I loved the pink version when I purchased his and was so excited and surprised he bought it for me! (Especially since I thought we had decided the patio set would be a combined Mother's Day/Father's Day gift!)

After lunch, I took a 2 hour nap and then we sat outside while the kids played. The weather was perfect! We ended the day with one my one request - takeout (momma wasn't cookin') on the deck with our new patio set! :)

It was a wonderful day and I am so thankful to be a momma to two sweet children. Also blessed to have such an amazing husband who helped create our little blessings. I hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!

And don't forget my link ups with Biana and Meghan.
