It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday and Happy first day of May! I honestly can't believe how fast April flew by and May is going to go by even faster. I was looking ahead at my planner for the month and honestly can't believe how busy it is. And then I remembered having that thought last year. May is just as busy as December! Crazy!

We are heading back to my hometown for a festival this weekend.  My hometown hosts the The Apple Blossom Festival every year and we haven't been back since 2007. I always loved the festival growing up and honestly can't believe it's been so many years since we last attended.

But before I go, here are my five on Friday!

~ONE~
The love my children share for each other melts my heart. They constantly amaze me with their actions. This was them on Monday morning. My daughter didn't want to go to school and my son didn't want her to go either! So sweet!

~TWO~
And speaking of school, I decided to start a countdown to make things easier for her. There's actually only 15 days after today!

~THREE~
This week we finally bought some new plants for the front of our house. And i was super happy, as "buy plants" was on my hubs' "staycation to-do list". Ha!

We planted 3 peony bushes and I couldn't be more excited about it! I can't wait to finally have my own pretty blooms cut and put in vases!

I also bought a fern! Wish me luck with it!

~FOUR~
After my mommy/daughter date with my daughter, my mom mentioned that WE should have a date. So yesterday I spent the morning with my momma! It was honestly so much fun! Even though she lives not even 5 minutes from me, I rarely see her. And I typically only see her in passing on my work day b/c she keeps the kids. It was nice to have some alone time. We grabbed breakfast, shopped a bit, had pedicures, and she even helped me with some decorations at my daughter's school.

~FIVE~

And speaking of The Bloom, I found some old pics. The first one below is from our most recent visit back home - when our daughter was only about 18 months old (she's 7 now).

Oh, and did I mention the colors for the festival are PINK AND GREEN?!? I think it was made for me! Ha!

And then there was the time I was selected to be a Princess (representing The Medical College of Virginia) on the court. I was soo excited - every girl's dream! I am so thankful my momma put together a scrapbook for me, as this was "pre-digital pictures". Ha! Hard to believe, isn't it?

The entire court! (Every year the princesses alternate wearing pink or green dresses, but my year was special b/c it was the 75th anniversary. We wore all white.)

Float Pics

My Marine Escort for the weekend's festivities!

The crazy thing is, when i pulled out the album, I honestly couldn't believe it has been that long! 13 years ago!! I was in my first year of pharmacy school -  2002 - 20 years old!!

Okay I'm going to stop talking about it, but I am excited for the celebs this year. Candace Cameron Bure's daughter is the Queen and Kevin Jonas is the Grand Marshall. I hope to meet Candace and also Kevin/Dani (I loved their reality show!!).

I hope you have a great weekend!! I'll be back Monday with a full recap of my weekend back home surrounded by lots of PINK and GREEN!

As always, my fun link ups:
