Now for my recap. We had such a wonderful weekend!! The only thing that would have made it better would have been to have my hubs off to join us. I loaded the kids up and headed back to my hometown to visit my sweet baby niece (and maybe my brother and dad too!). But my hubs had to work all weekend and had to stay home, boo!
Not 20 minutes into the trip, both kids were out. I was secretly cheering b/c it meant I could drive in peace and listen to MY music. Wahoo!
We arrived Friday afternoon (b/c we were able to leave earlier than expected due to schools being closed AGAIN on Friday) and I immediately hit up a few of my favorite stores (that we don't have in my town); Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, and Party City. I saw SOO many good things at Home Goods, but was too rushed to really enjoy myself. This sign cracked me up, though. And I really wanted to get it to hang above my bar cart. Sadly, I didn't really think it fit with the other decor in my formal dining room. Sad face! :(
My kids were troopers the entire time though!! Thank goodness!
Friday night we met my family for dinner, then loaded all of the kids in the backseat of my car to head back to my brother's house. My kids love being with their cousin, Eloise (and I do too!).
I just couldn't get enough of her. She's the sweetest little thing.
On Friday night I was also able to squeeze in a short visit with some friends. We've all been friends for over 20 years! It's crazy how months can go by w/o seeing each other, but when we're back together, it's like no time has passed.
The rest of our visit was pretty much just being lazy in our jammies lovin' on my niece.
I gave her a pony and even added a bow. She loved seeing her hair done. She was constantly looking in the mirror and touching her bow. Auntie always has to make sure Eloise looks girlie! :)
The kids got to enjoy some snuggles from my dad and brother too!
And crashed hard every night in the bed with me.
We were sad to say g'bye Sunday morning, but look forward to seeing them again at Easter.
I also managed to run Friday morning before we left and also yesterday afternoon when we returned home. I'm really trying to increase my running (now) to help me out once Summer hits. I usually take a break from running in the Winter and just enjoy big clothes and comfort food. (lol - also b/c I hate the treadmill and it's soo cold outside) Then I always regret the shape I'm in by the time Spring arrives. So lately I've decided to try to run 4-5 times per week. I loved this quote b/c it's so true. The only time I have regret is when i DON'T run.

And then this one made me laugh, especially after my bikini body selfie! Yikes!

One last thing, since I have been complaining TONS about the cold weather. When we returned on Sunday, it was sunny and almost 60. We spent a good amount of time outside enjoying it! (Just didn't take any pics.) Hooray for Spring and (hopefully) warmer weather!
Today I'm linking up with Biana and Meghan for my first "weekending" post.
Check back tomorrow for a super easy shamrock craft to make with your kids!
