It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday!! I can't thank you enough for the encouraging words/support from my last post. I always want to blog, but want it to be something I enjoy. I'd been feeling so overwhelmed with life that the blog was just adding to the stress. As I mentioned, I do plan to blog some, just not as frequently (at least until I get things back under control).

That being said, here is a quick Friday Faves post!

~ONE~
We were able to enjoy one last pool day last weekend to celebrate one of our favorite little friend's birthday. This group is our "cul-de-sac crew" (minus one little girl). Can't wait to add 3 more kiddos to the crew this winter.

~TWO~
I mentioned awhile back that I had been wanting a fire pit. I'm not sure if I ever told you that I finally found one and ordered it with my birthday money. This week my two favorite men put it together for me. I can't wait to make some smores in the very near future! Just hope the weather cools off!

~THREE~
With the babies coming, we've been talking a lot about changes that need to be made to make the most use of space in our house. I loved my previous bar cart, but it was pretty big and took up quite a bit of space in our dining room. My mom recently found this pink one and bought it for me. It's significantly smaller and seems to work out great in a corner of the room.  I decided to "jazz" it up a bit with lining each shelf with some of my favorite gold dot paper. I still need to tweak the lights, but so far it's working out. And yes, the top has become a designated snack/treat section for the kiddos. And the cocktail section has been pushed to the bottom (not that I'm able to enjoy any adult beverages at the current moment). But I did LOVE picking up the cute set of beverage napkins that say "Enjoy a Brew".

 ~FOUR~
This week I bought the ingredients to make my FAVORITE fall mix. A good friend introduced me to it a few years ago, and we all love it! But warning - it is VERY addicting. (M&M's, candy corn, and dry roasted peanuts)

 ~FIVE~
The hubs has been working so much OT lately that a date night was very much overdue. Fortunately we were able to enjoy an early one last night (before any football games started). We ate a delicious meal AND did a little baby registering. It was SUCH a fun night. But then again, any time we spend together is always fun!

As I'm finishing this post, I'm realizing that today is 9/11. I still have a very vivid memory of sitting in the classroom during Pharmacy school when this occurred. It always brings up a lot of emotions.

I hope you have a great wknd!!

It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday!!! It's seriously crazy how fast the weeks fly by now that we are back in school. Despite my efforts to want to believe that Summer is over, we are going to the pool (for a birthday party) one last time tomorrow. Then I hope to pull out all of my fall decor on Sunday. If you are fortunate enough to have Monday off, I hope you enjoy your long weekend!

This week's post is a simple "favorites of the week" post.

Favorite Quote

Favorite Purchase
I doubt I will be purchasing too much clothes this Fall/Winter b/c of my baby bump, but I knew when I saw this tunic I had to have it. I knew it would work now and also in the future.

Favorite New Recipe
Y'all! I happened to stumble across this image and recipe on IG a few days ago and immediately went to the pantry to gather the ingredients. I LOVE chocolate/peanut butter ANYTHING and the fact that is no-bake made it that much better. Warning - they are seriously addictive!

Favorite Song
With my musical background, I have always enjoyed listening to a cappella groups. So when I first heard this group, I immediately fell in love with them.  My daughter and I discovered OMI's "Cheerleader" over the Summer and played it nonstop. So naturally when I heard the Pentatonix version, I loved it even more!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!! I don't get the hubby back until Monday, but we'll still try to make the best of it! :)

It's Friday, Y'all!

Thank goodness it's Friday. It's been a tough week, emotionally. It started with my son going to preschool (for the first time) which led me to "ugly cry" the whole way home. Then with the shooting/killing of two of my local news anchor/cameraman and the local schools being placed on lockdown. Add on pregnancy hormones from having TWO babies. This momma is just emotionally drained. But the good news is that we have some family coming to town tonite and our BIG GENDER REVEAL party is FINALLY here! So here goes my 5 on Friday!

~ONE~
I'm always a week behind on pics, but my daughter took this one last Sunday before church. She used to be the "sign holder" when I was pregnant with my son. Now she gets to take the pics while he holds the sign. So sweet.

20 weeks

~TWO~
As I mentioned, my sweet boy started preschool on Tuesday and I was a big ball of nerves. I was so worried about how he'd do that I didn't even consider how hard it would be for me. Oh my heavens, I bawled like a baby all morning. Thank goodness my mom and I ran some errands to help distract me and pass the time or I probably wouldn't have made it. But I'm happy to report that he's done great and loves it. And that makes me very happy!

~THREE~
I started preparing for the party early in the week and decided to snap a few pics. Here are the stickers I made for our guests to wear.

~FOUR~
Thanks to a similar pic that Darci posted on IG, I found my first batch of pumpkin creamer. It was probably the highlight of the beginning of my week!

~FIVE~
And finally, please pray for the families/friends of these victims as well as our town. This has been such a hard hit on our community

I hope you have a great wknd! I'll be back to report about ours on Monday as well as the results of our babies genders! :)

It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday!! This week has seemed to drag on to me. But I think it's b/c of the hubs being gone all last weekend and then being gone all week with work. I'm just tired. Plus work took a LOT out of me.

~ONE~
Wednesday afternoon I had a pleasant surprise - all of my Lilly packages were delivered. I honestly couldn't believe how quickly it all arrived. And while I really can't fit into much of it right now, I feel good about the sizes I chose and can't wait until next Spring to wear them. I may even get to wear the tunic some this Fall.

~TWO~
Wednesday was also a fun morning out with my mom. We planned a quick trip to Michael's for party stuff for my son, but ended up starting with HOT donuts from Krispy Kreme and ended with a car full of minion stuff.

~THREE~
Last night we attended a "Back to school night" at my son's preschool. He will be starting next week and attending a church about 5 miles from our house. I'm sad that he won't be attending the preschool at our church where my daughter spent 3 years, but I'm thankful for how close this one is to our house.

~FOUR~
Today marks 20 weeks for me! Now that I'm finally feeling good, this pregnancy seems to be flying by. And it's hard to believe I am half way through! Although technically (with twins), you are 4 weeks ahead so I guess I'm past the halfway mark! Wahoo!!

~FIVE~
Tonite I plan to take the kids (and meet some friends) to our local town center for an outdoor showing of Planes Fire and Rescue. It should be a lot of fun!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! I work half day tomorrow so it'll be shorter than normal but hopefully I can get some rest too!

It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday!! We have successfully finished our first week of school (for my daughter). It's still hard to believe, but we are slowly getting adjusted to the schedule. And she really loves her teacher and seems super excited about this year. Thank you for all of the prayers and sweet comments about her first day. I appreciate all of them!

**And sorry in advance for some of the repeat IG pictures in the post.

~ONE~
Being pregnant really helps "curve" my spending desires b/c I don't want to buy maternity clothes and I can't really fit into real stuff. Plus I figure I'm making up for it with buying baby things. :) That being said, a few things have recently caught my eye from Old Navy. I adore this tunic and think I may go ahead and order it. It's something I can (hopefully) wear now (but also when I'm not pregnant) and it's only $17 (plus 30% off yesterday). I'm also strongly considering this floppy hat. I remember seeing them last year and wanting one but couldn't justify the price. This one is only $20 (and also on sale with code). Lastly, I love this dress but struggle with the size. I'd be afraid I'd order the wrong one since I'm not really sure what size I'd be (when not pregnant). Sometimes I'm in between sizes at Old Navy. So I may have to pass on this one.

~TWO~
I am NOT one to buy cookies for myself or even keep them in the house b/c I know I have ZERO control over eating them like a normal human being. However, OREO keeps getting me in trouble. First the Smores and now Brownie Batter. UGH!

~THREE~

Here are the pics of my sweet 2nd grader and her not-so-happy baby brother.

Fortunately I convinced her brother to take silly selfies with me to help cheer him up.

Then I thought it was funny that I witnessed the scene below about an hour after my daughter came home from school. I guess the first day of school wore the baby brother out more than the student! Ha!

~FOUR~
I am getting really excited for our upcoming gender reveal party (T-2 weeks). At first I was just using pink and blue, but decided to also add GOLD. I'm seriously LOVING it. I'm really trying hard to do everything myself. But boy does ETSY make it tempting to just order things already made.

~FIVE~
Once the kids go back to school, I am immediately finished with Summer and anticipate the Fall. Lucky for me, we've been experiencing some cooler temps all week. I sure hope it continues!

~SIX~
My hubs leaves today for a 24hour mountain bike race (that's too far away for us to join), so I had the kids make him "good luck" signs and cards. Please say a little prayer for him. I always worry about these things b/c the guys basically ride bikes (in a relay - so not 100% all the time) 24 hours straight w/o sleeping. Then he has to drive 6+ hours back home.

We'll miss my hubs this weekend but also have a fun party to go to attend on Saturday. I hope y'all have the best weekend!!

It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday!! This has been a busy week for us, as it was our last full week of Summer. And we certainly tried to do as much as we could while we still had time.

~ONE~
My son started a preschool gymnastics class with his girlfriend, Addison. It was really cute to see them tumbling around all over the floor.

And we can't leave out the big siblings who were such good sports during the class.

~TWO~
Every year before the students return to campus, my hubs likes to spend a morning on the campus of Virginia Tech (his alma mater).  So we loaded up and spent a few hours walking around Blacksburg and shopping at the bookstores. We also made a pit stop to see my grandpa. It was such a fun morning and the kids were being such hams in the stores!

~THREE~
One thing is for sure, we've all been trying to get extra snuggles from Cate before she starts school. It's going to be such a hard transition again this year. Thank goodness my son will go to preschool b/c he had a really hard time last year and I can imagine this year will be even harder for him.

~FOUR~
I took my daughter to school yesterday afternoon for open house. It's hard to believe I have a 2nd grader!! And she's decided this year she wants to be called "Catherine". I love it!

~FIVE~

I'm so excited for the new season of DCC that just started this week!!

~SIX~
I was never able to blog about the passing of Leslie (from A Blonde Ambition Blog) b/c it occurred when we were at the beach. But it completely devastated me and I'm still having a hard time shaking it.  That being said, there are lots of ways to help the sweet family she left behind (husband and two very young daughters). Check out Kelly's blog post if interested, but one of the ways is thru a dress purchase from She She Design (@sheshemade on IG). It should be on sale today. Every detail was chosen with Leslie in mind.  The custom tag will have one of her favorite verses, 1 Peter 1:6, "So be truly glad.  For there is wonderful joy ahead".

That's all I have for today. I'm off to enjoy our last weekend of Summer. I hope you have a great weekend!!

It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday!!! I am extremely happy it's the weekend.

~ONE~
My boss was on vacation this week and I had originally agreed to work 4 ten hour days to help cover the shifts. But fortunately after learning I was pregnant, I was able to find a relief pharmacist to cover two of the days. That only left me with a 20 hour work week and it just about did me in. It's not only the physical stress of standing for 10 hours but the mental stress. I have said this 1000 times, but I'll say it again: KUDOS TO WORKING MOMS!

~TWO~
I finally found the nail polish that my friend, Kimm, has been talking about. It's the perfect shade of white and I am so happy I finally found it.

~THREE~
These chips though!!! No words needed! #itsasouthernthing

~FOUR~
I can't get enough of my sweet kids lately. They have been having such a great Summer and just getting along so well. I know my son will be crushed again this year when my daughter returns to school. I also had a thought the other night, my sweet (unborn) babes are so lucky to have such amazing big siblings to look up to!

~FIVE~
I doubt I'll be blogging much next week. We are heading to the beach with my hubs' family. The beach is our happy place so I'm sure I'll be trying to soak up every last minute of it.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!! And fingers crossed the babes cooperate today so we can find out their genders!!!

 See you in August! :)

It's Friday, Y'all!

Happy Friday!!! I hope you've had a good week. Ours has been pretty good, especially last night! :)

~ONE~
We had a much overdue date night last night. The kids had been wanting a sleepover with my mom, so I figured I could incorporate a date into their trip. As always, it was really nice to enjoy a meal just the two of us. And even better, we came home and enjoyed a fun night at home. We love our kiddos, but the one on one time with my hubs is always very cherished!

~TWO~
I fixed the BEST peach cobbler the other night. I had been wanting it for awhile and decided to take the plunge. I asked for recipes on facebook and had quite a few responses. I mixed and matched a few recipes and it turned out great! Needless to say, I have been enjoying a little bit every night. (Also glad my sweet tooth has returned. It left me as soon as I was pregnant.)

~THREE~
I received the sweetest package in the mail this week from my bestie. The note said it was a combo birthday/feel better soon gift. She was so sweet to include things to help with my nausea as well as some of my absolute favs (food and misc). Granted this was a BIG gift, but I forgot how much fun it is to receive packages; big or small. I need to be better about sending random treats to friends/family. It really brightens your day.

~FOUR~
Y'all know I am a huge Bachelor/Bachelorette fan, but I'm just not that sure about this season. I do NOT like how they never have one entire show each time. The "to be continued" exhausts me. And I really liked Kaitlyn last season, but I'm jut not sure about her this time. This weeks show had me upset at first, but then happy. I had been pulling for Ben all along so when he wasn't picked, I was upset. But then I decided I think he's better off. Who do you want to win/think will win? I think Shawn has a crazy jealous side. And as crazy as this sounds, I kinda like Nick for her. I didn't like him at all last time around, but he seems to be showing a different side. The hubs thinks he has just "learned how to play the game". Thoughts??

Switching gears, does anyone watch So You Think You Can Dance? I've been watching from the beginning, and this season I was a bit hesitant with the new format of street/stage. But the opening (with the top 20 on stage) number blew me away! I am excited to see how the season turns out!

~FIVE~
TODAY IS THE DAY! I hope to take advantage of the Nordstrom Sale today. BUT, I can happily say that I have these pink beauties on their way to me thanks to my friend, Erin. (Thanks again, girl!) I also wait to see any goodies you may have purchased! (hint hint - KIMM!) This was the post where I highlighted some of the things I have my eyes on.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. The hubs is working (again, boo!), so I'm not sure what we'll get into. See you back on Monday!

It's Friday, Y'all!

TGIF!! What a week it's been. Not only did we have Vacation Bible School this week but I also start back to work today. Mix in a ton of nausea and I'll happy to see the weekend arrive! I hope to be lazy tomorrow and then we have church/VBS program on Sunday. So actually I might be happier once next Monday arrives! :)

~ONE~
VBS has been such a blast this week. It's truly one of my favorite times of the year. I have helped lead the preschool music group for about 5 years now. It's literally 3 straight hours of aerobics but I absolutely LOVE it. I was a bit more limited this year b/c of the babes/nausea, but overall it was a great experience. And our church had over 500 kids this week and over 700 total people involved (kids, workers, etc). Such an amazing experience.

But this is how we all looked every afternoon!

~TWO~
Did anyone watch Princess Charlotte's Christening? I was so thankful my mom told me about it so I could watch the highlights after the fact. I loved everything about it!!

And little Prince George - could he be any cuter??

I just can't - this picture - too stinkin' cute! Prince William and Prince George! LOVE!

~THREE~
Has anyone else set up the DVR box to record some of the movies on the Hallmark Channel? One of my favorite friends reminds me about this every year and I'm so thankful!

~FOUR~
Since it's still so early, I haven't given much thought to our nursery yet. But the closer we are to finding out their genders, the more excited I am to start planning!! However, before the "fun" part begins, we have lots of "work" that needs to be done to even make room for 2 more babes!
~FIVE~
Back to work
I head back to work today for a shortened (7 hours) day.

I haven't worked since May, as we thought it was best to take off the entire first trimester (personal history, healthy, etc). My job is extremely stressful physically (standing for 10 hours) and also mentally. We just didn't want to add any extra stress to the pregnancy. But the time has come for me to return to the pharmacy. I hope to only work half days for awhile, but I do have some long days in the very near future (while my boss is on vacation). Please pray for me. I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck in the beginning.

I hope you all have a great wknd. As I mentioned in the beginning of the post, tomorrow will be a lazy day. Then Sunday will be sort of busy with church and the VBS program. But thankfully by Monday the hubs will be off and hopefully we can rest a bit. Not for long though, b/c I'd like to start making some baby progress next week (mainly involving my big kids and rearranging their rooms).
